Time to break out the funk and get down with some Funky Skunk. It’s review time! So here’s a little background for you. Funky Skunk is a strain developed in the UK and US about 20 years ago according to worldwide marijuana seeds.com. The strain is based on OG Cheese, crossed with Afghani and a sativa dominant strain such as Colombian Gold. The flowering time is about 60 days and the plant is usually harvested in October-November. The plant is apparently easy to grow both indoors and out, and produces a hefty amount of flower, but I have yet to grow Funky Skunk myself.
Now for the good stuff! Funky Skunk’s terpene makeup provides the cannabis connoisseur with a bouquet of cheesy, earthy goodness touched with hints of mild citrus fruit. The taste matches the aroma and provides the palate with a smooth, earthy citrus smoke that goes well with a chocolate chaser if you’re into that.
The strain is noted as carrying approximately 18% THC which provides the average bubbler with a nice functional high lasting anywhere from an hour or two depending on your “experience”. Although most references state a 60/40 Sativa to Indica ratio, the Island Grown strain I purchased is definitely sativa dominant and provides an energetic, happy high with little to no couch lock.
Medically speaking, the strain’s genetic makeup is great for treating mild aches and pains…and it does increase appetite. Trust me it does give one the munchies, because I just smoked it and I’m thinking of the cold pizza in the kitchen. Well that’s it for me as I’m going to crank “Rilly Groovy” by Beautiful People and search the fridge. I hope you enjoyed my review of Funky Skunk. If you would like to request a strain review please let me know. Until next time I wish you all peace, love, and endless bong hoots. Cheers!
